The one advantage that Bronny James has right now by choosing to attend the University of Southern California is that his father, LeBron James, never went to college. He was famously drafted number one by the Cleveland Cavaliers straight out of high school and ever since Bronny began his career at Sierra Canyon High School, comparisons have been heavy between the two.

But he will be able to forge out his own path this coming season and where he gets selected in the 2024 NBA Draft will be solely up to him if he decides to declare. He will be joining a deep back court with the Trojans thanks to the number one recruit in the nation, Isaiah Collier, coming in as well and Boogie Ellis will also be returning for his third straight year at the university.

So no matter what happens or who USC faces off against, NBA scouts will be paying a close eye on Bronny and mulling over whether or not they believe he'll be ready to contribute to an NBA squad in the coming years. We know that he already defends at a high level and excels when it comes to catch-and-shoot three's but so many other aspects of his game will be on full display in the 2023-2024 season. Ball-handling, off the ball movement and isolated shot creation are just a few that will determine his draft stock.

And a Trojans Wire columnist by the name of Donovan James believes that Bronny could be one of the most intriguing draft prospects ever.

"Bronny James will be a force to be reckoned with alongside USC backcourt mates such as top prospect Isaiah Collier and veteran scorer Boogie Ellis. Bronny’s 3-point shooting, on-ball defense and playmaking skills have come along well. His ability to drive the ball is also notable. Those traits could potentially make him a lottery pick in 2024 or 2025, but that is not the consensus of evaluators. He still has room for improvement with Andy Enfield in the Trojan program."
