USC Football: Insider Predicts Fate Of USC Against 1-0 Stanford

USC comes in as a heavy favorite

Your USC Trojans are heading into Saturday's against Stanford as a huge favorite.

How huge, you ask?

Well according to DraftKings, USC is a 29.5-point favorite and is -6500 on the money line.

As the sixth-ranked team in the nation, it makes sense that the Trojans are favored to win the game.

Bleacher Report's David Kenyon agrees with the oddsmakers, as he believes that USC will smoke the Cardinal.

The short version: USC wins handily. The intrigue of this Pac-12 clash is that the Trojans have plenty to prove defensively, while Stanford is adapting to Troy Taylor's uptempo, modern offense. We should learn a fair bit about both units on Saturday night.

USC is coming off two straight weeks of domination, where they put up 50+ points in each game. Against San Jose State, they scored 56 points, and against Nevada, they put up 66.

This was the first time since 2015 that the Trojans put up 50 in back-to-back games.

On the other hand, Stanford is coming off of a hard-fought win in Hawaii, where they outscored the Rainbow Warriors by only 13 points.

Last year, Stanford was one of the worst teams in the Pac-12. They went 3-9, with their lone bright spot being an upset over rival Notre Dame.

The two schools will meet again nearly a year after their last matchup. USC defeated Stanford by a score of 41-28, but the game was never close.

The Trojans led 21-7 after half and never looked back in Palo Alto.

While the game still needs to be played, USC fans can expect another week of stress-free football.
