Former Utah Safety Clayton Isbell Declares For NFL Draft

Coastal Carolina safety and former Utah Ute Clayton Isbell announced his intent to enter the NFL Draft in a post via X.

Isbell spent three years as an Illinois State Redbird before transferring to Utah in 2022 and then making the move to Coastal Carolina for the 2023 campaign where he recorded his best season.

In his three seasons at Illinois State, Isbell recorded 6 total tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 5 interceptions including a touchdown.

In his one season at the U, he recorded 16 total tackles and in his final college season at Coastal Carolina, Isabell recorded a whopping 89 total tackles, 5 passes defended, 1 sack, and 3 interceptions.

The 6'2" 220-pound senior out of St. Charles, Illinois is an absolute ballhawk and despite his short stint as a Ute, Isabell still included a picture of him wearing the Utah colors in his announcement.

Clayton Isbell joins a growing list of Utah-affiliated defensive backs in the NFL and even though the proudest moments of his college career are as a Chanticleer, Utah pros and fans will always consider him one of their own.
