Patrick Mahomes Credits Utah Legend Alex Smith for Chiefs Culture

The 2024 NFL season is officially over, and the Kansas City Chiefs are the champs once again. In a post-match press conference, Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes credited Utah great Alex Smith for the culture of the organization.

Smith played with the Chiefs from 2013-2017 and was the starter before Mahomes took over. Mahomes, a now three-time Super Bowl champion and three-time Super Bowl MVP, said in the presser, "I got brought into this culture, Alex Smith was leading this team and they had the pieces in place."

Smith has been in the headlines more than usual this season after going against Tom Brady's NFL mediocrity claims and Cam Newton's Brock Purdy game manager statement on ESPN so some positive comments by the back-to-back champ is a nice change of pace.

However, with the NFL season in the books, the countdown to college football begins, and Alex Smith, along with every Utah fan across the nation, will surely be counting down the days till the Utes grace the field again.
