Utah's Carsen Ryan Ranks Second on PFF Highest Graded Transfer TE List

PFF has just released their list of the highest-graded transfer tight ends of the offseason, and new Utah man Carsen Ryan came in at the number two spot.

Ryan, who played at UCLA in 2022 and 2023, finished last season with 13 receptions for 205 yards, and 3 touchdowns, making the 6'4" 255-pound Utah native a sought-after addition when he entered his name in the portal.

Entering the transfer portal as a four-star player according to 247 Sports, Ryan signed with Utah 10 days after his admission into the portal and joins Brant Kuithe and Landen King in arguably the most stacked tight end room in all of college football.

PFF graded Ryan with a 72.0 which was only second to former Michigan State and current Houston TE Maliq Carr who was graded with an 81.9. Below Ryan is Oklahoma TE Jake Roberts (70.6), NC State TE Justin Joly (70.3), Michigan State TE Jack Velling (69.8), Texas Tech TE Jalin Conyers (69.8), Louisville TE Mark Redman (69.4), Ole Miss TE Dae'Quan Wright (67.0), Georgia TE Benjamin Yurosek (66.8), and Texas TE Amari Niblack (66.0).

With Spring practices right around the corner, Ryan will look to quickly acclimate himself in the system and solidify himself as a solid option for Cam Rising when the 2024 season rolls around.
