Virginia Breaks School Record With 568 Athletes on ACC Academic Honor Roll

568 Virginia student-athletes made the 2022-2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll, the most the UVA athletics department has ever placed in the 67-year history of the ACC Honor Roll. 

In order to qualify for the ACC Academic Honor Roll, a student must participate in a varsity sport and post a grade point average of 3.0 or better over the complete academic year. 

Per VirginiaSports.com, 15 Cavaliers made the honor roll for the fifth time in their careers and 69 UVA athletes did so for the fourth time. 363 Virginia athletes were named to ACC-All-Academic teams during the 2022-2023 academic year and five Cavaliers were named the ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year in their sport: Kate Douglass (women’s swimming), Owayne Owens (indoor men’s track and field), Chris Rodesch (men’s tennis), Connor Shellenberger (men’s lacrosse) and Ethan Dabbs (outdoor men’s track and field).
