Both the Virginia men's and women's tennis teams swept their matches at the ITA Kickoff Weekend at Boar's Head Sports Club, qualifying both teams for a spot in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships next month.

The No. 11 UVA women's tennis team took down Texas Tech on Friday, rallying to win after conceding the doubles point to the Red Raiders. After falling behind 1-0, the Cavaliers got singles wins from Natasha Subhash, Sara Ziodato, Elaine Chervinsky, and Melodie Collard to advance to the ITA Kickoff Final. Virginia met a familiar ACC opponent in Georgia Tech in the final on Saturday and swept the Yellow Jackets thanks to a 2-1 win in doubles and then singles victories by Hibah Shaikh, Sara Ziodato, and Elaine Chervinsky.

Virginia (6-0) advances to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship for the third-consecutive year and fourth time in the last five years. The 16-team tournament will be held February 9-12 at the University of Washington's Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle, Washington.

The No. 3 Virginia men's tennis team defeated Northern Arizona 4-1 on Saturday, winning the doubles point and then getting singles victories from Dylan Dietrich, Edoardo Graziani, and James Hopper to advance to Sunday's final. There, the Cavaliers swept Florida Atlantic 4-0, again winning the doubles point and again getting singles wins from Dietrich, Graziani, and Hopper.

The victory secured Virginia (5-1) one of 16 spots in the 2024 ITA National Team Indoor Championship, which will take place from February 16-19 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York. The Cavaliers are six-time ITA National Team Indoor Champions, with their most recent title coming in 2017 when the event was hosted in Charlottesville.
