For the second season in a row, Virginia attackman Connor Shellenberger has been named a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award, presented annually to the best player in college lacrosse. Shellenberger is joined by Georgetown's Tucker Dordevic, Notre Dame's Pat Kavanagh, Cornell's CJ Kirst, and Duke's Brennan O'Neill.

The redshirt junior and Charlottesville native has tallied a career-low 19 goals so far this season, but has more than made up for it with his passing, tallying 43 assists for a total of 62 points. His 4.77 points per game ranks 10th in the nation and his 3.31 assists per game ranks second. Shellenberger earned his third-career All-ACC selection in as many seasons on Tuesday.

Connor Shellenberger becomes just the third Cavalier in program history to be named a Tewaaraton finalist twice, joining Ben Rubeor (2007 & 2008) and Steele Stanwick (2011 & 2012). Shellenberger is looking to be the fourth Wahoo to win the Tewaaraton Award, potentially joining Chris Rotelli (2003), Matt Ward (2006), and Steele Stanwick (2011). UVA's three Tewaaraton Award winners are tied with Maryland and Syracuse for most by a single school.
