After a long competition and a lot of speculation, Washington Huskies head coach Chris Petersen has named Jacob Eason the starting quarterback for the 2019 season during today’s press conference.

Jacob Haener, The sophomore from Danville, CA was pushing hard all offseason to win the position but ultimately Eason, the University of Georgia transfer got the nod. Coach Petersen said, “Obviously (we have) two really good QB’s...you take it as long as you can...you gotta make a decision and roll with it.” He also notes that Haener WILL play in game 1 vs Eastern Washington.
