Huskies Offer Multi-Sport Athlete From Kansas

Washington continues to attempt to make inroads in the Midwest

It looks like it's going to be a big summer for wide receiver Caden Butler. The product of Olathe North High School in Olathe, Kansas, attended the Northwest Showcase recruiting camp hosted by Western Oregon University and walked away with a few scholarship offers.

Butler won the camp's MVP receiver award before receiving scholarship offers from both Oregon and Washington. That brings his total offer list up to four after he went into the showcase holding offers from Oregon State and Campbell University.

As he continues his summer camp tour, Butler is probably going to continue drawing interest from schools all over the Midwest. The receiver, who is part of the class of 2025, has already taken unofficial visits to Nebraska, Kansas State and Iowa State.

Butler is a talented athlete and that's clearly evident on his film. He also runs track and plays baseball for Olathe North, but has all the makings of a future star at wide receiver.

247 Sports' Brandon Huffman said Butler turned a lot of heads and pushed to be the overall MVP of the Northwest Showcase. On film, it's obvious why he was able to draw so much attention during the camp.

The first thing that catches the eye is Butler's impressive speed. He's too fast for his quarterback at times. However, the fact he needs to come back to the ball sometimes to make a play helps him display physicality and strength at the catch point.

As he continues to progress, he's going to need to continue to refine his footwork. If Butler can get clean releases off the line of scrimmage and get in and out of breaks with ease, he's going to be hard to guard at the high school level.
