Three Mountaineers Receive Preseason All-Big 12 Honors

West Virginia is expected to be a contender in the Big 12 this year and these three guys will play a big part in the Mountaineers' run.

Wednesday morning, junior infielder Tyler Doanes, junior catcher/DH Paul McIntosh, and junior left-handed starting pitcher Jackson Wolf were named to the Preseason All-Big 12 team.

West Virginia got off to an 11-5 start in the 2020 season before the pandemic shut the season down. Doanes got off to a blazing start notching 10 RBI, eight runs scored, two doubles, a triple, and seven walks while hitting at a .279 clip.

McIntosh is loaded with a bunch of power and will be the heart of the Mountaineers' lineup. He hit 10 homers and collected 34 RBI in his first year in the program in 2019 and hit three homers and had 14 RBI in 16 games last season.

Jackson Wolf will lead a deep pitching staff and is expected to have a terrific 2021 season. He posted a 2-4 record with a 5.17 ERA in 13 starts in 2019 but really seemed to have turned the page in 2020 with a 3-1 record and 1.05 ERA in four starts a year ago.
