WVU Receives Commitment from Gardner-Webb P Tyler Switalski

West Virginia adds a lefty to the rotation

West Virginia received a commitment from Gardner-Webb transfer starting pitcher Tyler Switalski Monday afternoon. 

In two seasons, he went 13-10 and holds a 4.88 ERA for his career with 128 strikeouts, including notching a career-high 11 Ks versus Radford in his just fifth his fifth collegiate appearance.

Switalski went 8-5 last season at the number two starter, with a 5.60 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 15 appearances, including registering a season-best 10 strikeouts against Radford in a season-inning shutout after a 5-5 freshman campaign and a 4.13 ERA. 

The Waynesburg (PA) native was one of the top-500 high school players by Perfect Game and also earned 2020 Perfect Game Preseason Underclass All-American honors coming out of Waynesburg Central High School.
