Morgantown, WV - The West Virginia Mountaineers (8-17, 3-9) fell to the No. 12 Baylor Bears (19-6, 8-4) Saturday night 94-81. Baylor guard Ja'Kobe Walters led all scorers with 23 points while West Virginia forward Jesse Edwards led the Mountaineers with 21 points and nine rebounds.

West Virginia forward Jesse Edwards scored the game's first bucket as the Mountaineers took the fight to the Bears early and held a three-point lead

Edwards left the game early due to foul trouble and the Bears took advantage of his absence in the paint with a quick 7-0 spurt to claim a 16-12 lead at the 13:22 mark of the first half.

The Bears continued to get easy looks at the rim in the first half, going 15-20 from around the rim, stretching their lead to nine before taking an eight-point lead into halftime.

Bears guard Jayden Nunn buried consecutive threes to start the second half, sparking an 11-2 run

Baylor remained hot and built a 22-point advantage at the midway point of the second half. The Bears shot 8-18 from the behind arc in the second half.

West Virginia slowly chipped away at the Bears lead, cutting the deficit to nine with 1:23 remaining in the game but WVU guard Kerr Kriisa knocked the ball away from Baylor guard RayJ Dennis, but a foul was called, and Dennis hit both free throws to take the lead back to 11 as the Bears finished from the foul to take the 94-81 victory.
