Jordan Harrison Adds Another Accolade, Earns WBCA All-American Honorable Mention

In this story:
Senior guard Jordan Harrison had just about as good a senior year as one could possibly hope for.
Despite the season being over for the Mountaineers, Harrison is still collecting awards for her efforts this past season. Most recently, Harrison was named a WBCA All-American honorable mention for her terrific season.
Harrison was also named a finalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award. Although Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo took home the award, Harrison's nomination speaks volumes to the philosophy and culture that head coach Mark Kellogg has instilled in Morgantown.
The legend grows...

Congrats to @J_Harrison2022 on being named a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention! 👏👏👏 pic.twitter.com/F40Tfvat4x
Harrison took time to thank her teammates for their support on the biggest night of her life.
“My teammates' confidence in me has given me confidence on the defensive end.”
Harrison demonstrated what an unselfish teammate should look like. She averaged 5.2 assists per contest this season, leading the Mountaineers by a significant margin. She also led the team in steals and other major categories.
Unselfishness cannot be shown just through stats. Let’s look no further than her original commitment to WVU after her true freshman season at Stephen F. Austin. She followed Kellogg to the program with no other ties but him and continued to grow as a player throughout each of her three seasons in Morgantown.
It all seemed to come together during the Big 12 tournament, where she was named the Defensive Player of the Year in the conference and the Conference Tournament’s most outstanding player after leading her team to the championship, all within a week of each other. This latest honorable mention nod is just more proof that she was truly one of the nation's best players this past season.
The Mountaineers fell short to the Kentucky Wildcats in the round of 32 of the NCAA Tournament, but the team accomplished so much in the 2026 season. The team captured the program's second Big 12 Tournament title, and its first in nine years. For the first time in over three decades, the Mountaineers were able to host NCAA Tournament games on their home floor in Morgantown.
While Harrison will no longer be playing for the Mountaineers, she has laid the blueprint for success at WVU. With fellow senior Kierra “Meme” Wheeler declaring for the WNBA Draft this past week, it would not be shocking to see Harrison take her talents to the next level.
Harrison has proven to everyone that national success is not only possible but a reality for the West Virginia women's basketball team under Mark Kellogg. The team will now face the impossible task of trying to replace the hole that Harrison leaves with her graduation.
