No. 5 Texas Hammers Mountaineers

Austin, TX - Texas guard Sir'Jabari Rice scored a season-high 24 points to lead the Longhorns (20-5, 9-3) past West Virginia 94-60 Saturday afternoon. The Mountaineers (15-10, 4-8) committed 20 turnovers on the day and shot an abysmal 35.2% from the field.
West Virginia forward Emmitt Matthews Jr. scored seven of his 12 first half points in the opening minutes as the Mountaineers grabbed the early 12-8 advantage.
Texas answered the Mountaineers' quick start with a 21-5 run, claiming a 29-17 lead at the 8:11 mark of the first half.
West Virginia committed 13 first half turnovers while Texas shot 5-7 from three-point range and went 16-16 from free throw line to build a 51-30 halftime lead.
The Mountaineers scored the first four points of the second half, but their offense was immediately slowed, shooting 9-27 from the field in the final 20 minutes. Meanwhile Texas remained efficient from the field in the second half and were 15-31 from the field, including 5-10 behind the arc to cruise to a 94-60 victory.
