Spread & Over/Under Predictions for WVU vs. Cincinnati

Can the Mountaineers cover the spread?

Each game day, we will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of West Virginia games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: Cincinnati -11.5

2-star play on Cincinnati covering (-11.5): Honestly, Cincinnati is a decent team but I don't think they are 11.5 points better than West Virginia. Sounds crazy to say since I'm backing them and with them coming off a 36-point win over these very Mountaineers, but that's how I feel. So, why exactly am I laying the points then? This WVU team is ready to move on to whatever's next in store for them. It's been a long, trying season and I just can't see them hanging in for a full forty minutes. I don't expect it to be as bad as it was on Saturday, but I think we do see them looking like a team that's ready to call it a season.

Over/Under: 144.5

1-star play on the under: The over barely hit on Saturday between these two and that was with Cincinnati scoring 92. West Virginia, for whatever reason cannot score the ball to save their life away from the Coliseum. The first matchup earlier in the year, WVU won 69-65, so even if you feel like WVU has a chance it's still an under for me. I'd be surprised if the Mountaineers break 60 in this one, so let's go over.

Last year's picks:
