Morgantown, WV - The West Virginia Mountaineers (4-0) hammered the Pennsylvania Quakers 92-58 Friday night. WVU guard Erik Stevenson led all scorers with 21 points on 8-9 shooting from the field, and an unblemished 4-4-4 from behind the arc.

West Virginia opened the game on a 9-1 run building a 20-point advantage, 31-11, at the 9:39 mark of the first half. Four different Mountaineers hit a three during that span with guards Erik Stevenson and Joe Toussaint hit a pair and forwards Emmitt Matthews Jr. and Tre Mitchell both popping a three.

Penn closed the gap to thirteen with 5:46 left in the half. Sophomore forward Jamel King checked into the game for the first time this season and buried a three to put the Mountaineers back up 16.

Stevenson scored the Mountaineers final 10 points of the half and extended the WVU lead, 52-31, heading into halftime. Stevenson led all scorers at the break with 17 points on a perfect 6-6 shooting from the field, including 4-4 from three-point range while Trey Mitchell didn't miss, hitting all four of his attempts from the field and both free throws for 11 first half points.

West Virginia shot just 3-9 from the field nearing the midway point of the second half, getting most of its production from the free throw line, going 9-12 as the Mountaineers were able maintain a 20-plus point lead, and steadily growing the advantage.

Fourteen Mountaineers saw action against the Quakers and all 14 scored at least one point as WVU cruised to an 92-58 victory over Penn.
