Mini Scouting Reports on WVU's Transfers from GM Drew Fabianich

A quick look at some of the newcomers.

In the first transfer portal window of the 2024 offseason, West Virginia added seven players to its roster from the portal, five of which are on the defensive side of the football.

During a recent guest appearance on In the Gun Podcast, WVU football GM Drew Fabianich was asked to give some quick hitters on each newcomer. Here's what he had to say.

OL Xavier Bausley (Jacksonville State)

"Did a good job at that level. He needs to develop with Mike Joseph and he's got a chance to start eventually."

WR Jaden Bray (Oklahoma State)

"He fits. Big and fast. He works hard. He's a little bit raw. He's going to get better as a route runner. But to have two long outside receivers, you're going to have to deal with us a little bit differently now."

DL TJ Jackson (Troy)

"He can bring sub rush, plus on the move now, he's explosive and can really change direction really well. The defense to what he was playing in is close to what we do, which is going to be good for him because he'll be ahead of the game. He'll put a lot of pressure on a lot of players that are already here."

EDGE Ty French (Gardner-Webb)

"Explosive. He's going to be a terror off the edge. He's going to have to get chipped or he's going to be a factor."

LB Reid Carrico (Ohio State)

"Looking forward to seeing what he can do because there wasn't a lot of tape. He's willing. He's smart. He's tough. We'll just have to wait and see what he does in pads."

CB TJ Crandall (Colorado State)

"Very good vision. Long. Can develop into a solid all-around corner."

CB Ayden Garnes (Duquesne)

"Instinctive. Great eyes. Going to be productive on the ball."
