Pat McAfee Picks WVU as the Dark Horse in the Big 12 on College GameDay

West Virginia gets some love on ESPN.

Pat McAfee continues to prop up this year's West Virginia football team. Whether it's out of true belief or hope, he gives the Mountaineers all the recognition he can while on ESPN's air.

During yesterday's College GameDay show, McAfee was asked who is the dark horse team in the Big 12 Conference. Biased or not, he went with his alma mater, WVU.

"It's the West Virginia Mountaineers and Garrett Greene who are the dark horse in the Big 12. You've got to remember the offensive line, they return all five starters and have two All-Americans on there. Top 10 in the country on the offensive line. Used NIL money, pay the running back [CJ Donaldson]. We've got a good defense. This team could potentially become something or it could be Neal Brown's last year with the Mountaineers. One or the other. He knows. He knows that's the case. But there's a chance [if] we beat Penn State opening night and then we go on a run. Garrett Greene's going to run wild in Happy Valley in Week 1 and then we're going to beat Duquesne and then Week 3, Backyard Brawl, College GameDay. Morgantown is going to be epic."
