Wheeling, WV - Best Virginia shot 1-14 in the fourth quarter while Herd That build a double-digit advantage heading into the ELAM Ending as Herd That knocks off Best Virginia 74-61.

Erik Stevenson buried a three at the top of the key, capping off a 5-0 Best Virginia spurt to begin the game.

The two teams battle defensively, with Best Virgina getting the better of Herd That, holding the Herd to three points in the first four and a half minutes as the Mountaineers held a 9-3 advantage at the 4:25 mark of the first period. 

Best Virginia led by as many as nine in the first period, but Jon Elmore hit a pair of threes to guide Herd That back within two with 33 seconds remaining before Jamel Morris answered on the ensuing possession to push the lead back to five to end the period. 

The matchup remained contested in the second quarter with every offensive possession a battle to produce points. Herd That took its first lead at the 3:18 mark of the quarter but Kevin Jones quickly answered to retain the advantage, and Jamel Morris' drive to the basket for a three-point advantage at the half.

Best Virgina opened the second half with a 6-2 run to build the lead to seven.

Herd That inched its way closer and got within one with over three minutes left in the third period, then tempers flared and multiple technical were issued on Herd That's Jacorey Williams with three and one on Erik Stevenson. 

Jamel Morris and Nathan Adrian made all four free throws to build the lead back to five. However, Herd That grabbed the momentum heading into the fourth quarter and ran with it. 

Herd That started the fourth quarter with a 14-3 run and a 10-point advantage with just two minutes remaining until the ELAM ending.

Best Virginia trailed 64-55 with the ELAM ending set for 72. 

Derek Cooke Jr. struck first for Herd That and Best Virginia's shooting struggles continued, finishing 24.1% from the field in the second half. 

Jon Elmore ended the game with a left wing three to give Herd That the 74-61 win.
