Bruce Irvin Signs with Playoff Team

Bruce gets a chance to make a run for the Super Bowl.

The NFL playoffs are set to begin this weekend and former West Virginia pass rusher Bruce Irvin will indeed be participating in the quest for the Lombardi Trophy. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Irvin is signing a deal with the Miami Dolphins.

Miami is the No. 6 seed in the AFC and will take on the defending Super Bowl champs, the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday at 8 p.m. EST on Peacock.

Even with it being a rather quick turnaround, there's a chance that Irvin not only dresses for the game but plays a significant role. Miami is dealing with a bunch of injuries off the edge which is why they went out and signed Irvin, Malik Reed, and Justin Houston in the past 48 hours.

After sitting out much of the 2023 season, Irvin latched on with the Detroit Lions back in December and appeared in two games before the two sides mutually parted ways.

The 36-year-old has tallied 344 tackles, 131 QB hits, 70 tackles for loss, 56.5 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, 13 passes defended, three interceptions, and three fumble recoveries for his career.
