Darius Stills Lands New Opportunity with New Team

Stills is on to the next chapter of his career.

West Virginia's own Darius Stills continues to work toward his ultimate goal of playing in the NFL. It's not been a straight path thus far, but he continues to grind and hopefully for him, that will pay off with another NFL team taking a chance on him.

For now, he'll be taking his talents north of the border to the Canadien Football League, signing with the Montreal Alouettes over the weekend.

Stills recently played for the Massachusetts Pirates of the Indoor Football League (IFL) and in five games there, he totaled 13 tackles and one tackle for loss. There, he played with another former Mountaineer, Ezekiel Rose, who led the team in sacks (3.5) and was third in tackles for loss (8.5).

After putting together a dominant career at West Virginia and leaving as a consensus All-American, Stills surprisingly went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. His size had a lot to do with it but it is still surprising that a team didn't take a flyer on someone with that much production at big-time school. He did, however, sign with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent. Stills also spent a little bit of time with the Kansas City Chiefs but injuries got in the way at both spots.

Prior to playing in the IFL, Stills played for the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL.
