Doege Signs with Edmonton

On Monday, the Edmonton Elks announced the signing of former West Virginia University quarterback Jarrett Doege.
Doege spent last season at Troy 575 yards and five touchdowns in seven games after two years as the starter at WVU.
The Lubbock, Texas, native transferred to West Virginia in 2019 following two seasons at Bowling Green. Doege sat out most of 2019 before taking over the reins in the final three games of the season and threw for 699 yards and three touchdowns as the Mountaineers went 2-1 during that stretch.
Doege was named the starter heading into the 2020 season and tossed for 2,587 yards and 14 touchdowns in a shortened 10-game season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Then, in his final season in the old gold and blue, he threw for 3,048 yards and 19 touchdowns to earn Second Team All-Big 12.
