Grove Strikes Out Six Against Toronto

Michael Grove's slider was effective early Monday night against the Blue Jays, striking out six but Toronto came out on top with a 6-3 extra inning decision.
The former West Virginia hurler struck out three in the first and followed with a pair of Ks in the second for quick five quick strikeouts to begin the evening.
In the bottom of the first, Max Muncy put the Dodgers on the board with an RBI single into centerfield for the early advantage.
Grove continued his prowess in the fourth, coaxing Max Chapman on an 0-2 slider out of the zone for his sixth strike out of the night.
Jason Heyward provided some cushion in the bottom of the frame with a solo blast for a 2-0 Dodgers lead. However, Toronto responded.
The Blue Jays locked in on Grove in the fifth, leading off with three consecutive singles, topped off with an RBI from Kevin Kiermaier to move within one. Then, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. tied the game at two with a two-out RBI single through the gap on the left side and ended Grove's evening.
Grove finished with six strikeouts, one shy of tying a career-high, in 4.2 innings of work.
Chapman gave the Blue Jays the lead in the eighth with a solo home run, then Muncey evened the game in the bottom of the frame, but a two-RBI double from Daulton Varsho highlighted a three-run 11th inning to push past the Dodgers 6-3.
