Jevon Carter is Heading Home

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, former West Virginia guard Jevon Carter agreed on a three-year, $20 million deal with his hometown Chicago Bulls.

The Maywood, Illinois, native declined his 2.3 million player option with the Milwaukee Bucks for the upcoming season and entered free agency Tuesday night.

Last year in his first full season with the Milwaukee Bucks, Carter led the Bucks in games played during the regular season with 81 appearances, including a personal best 39 starts and averaged career-highs in minutes played (22.4), points (8.0), field goal percentage (42.3%) and rebounds (2.5).

Carter scored a career-highs against the Oklahoma City Thunder on November 8 to lead the Bucks to their 11th victory of the season, scoring 36 points on 15-27 shooting and dished 12 assists.

Carter's production has increased since arriving in Milwaukee towards the end of the 2021-22 season. He averaged 7.6 points during his Bucks career - an uptick from 4.3 ppg in his previous three stops.

The Oak Park, IL native was selected in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies. He spent one year with the franchise and set a previous career-high of 32 points before he was traded to the Phoenix Suns for two seasons.

The Suns traded Carter to the Brooklyn Nets prior to last season before he was released and scooped up by the defending world champion Milwaukee Bucks for a playoff push. He made 20 appearances in the final stretch of the regular season, averaging 5.6 points and 2.5 assists per game.

Carter was a three-time Big 12 Conference All Defensive Team selection during his time at WVU and was twice voted Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year and NABC Defensive player of the year and was the 2018 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year.

Carter elevated his offense his senior season, averaging 17.3 points and 6.6 assists per game and a first team All-Big 12 Conference selection.
