Victor Scott Selected to the All-Star Futures Game

On Monday, former West Virginia outfielder Victor Scott was promoted from single high-A to double A within the St. Louis Cardinals organization and was selected to represent the National League in the All-Star Futures Game in Seattle on July 8 as part of the year's MLB All Star Weekend.
Scott stole a minor-league-leading 50 bases for the Peoria Chiefs while hitting .282 with nine doubles, eight triples, a pair of home runs and an OPS of .763 as the leadoff hitter this season. He hit a minor league career-high .308 for the month of June. He recorded at least one hit in 19 of the 22 games for the month, six of which were multi-hit games.
The St. Louis Cardinals selected Scott in the fifth round (pick 157) of the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft after setting a WVU program record 38 stolen bases and hit a team-best 47 RBI's and set Mountaineer career-highs in batting average (.278), home runs (6), slugging percentage (.454) and doubles (17).
In his first shortened season in the minors last year, he hit .214 with 14 RBIs and 13 stolen bases in 32 games with the Palm Beach Cardinals (A).
