Class of 2024 Offensive Lineman Receives WVU Offer

The West Virginia University football coaching staff extends offer to Class of 2024 Florida Offensive Lineman

West Virginia University recently offered 2024 offensive lineman Joseph Ionata out of Christian Calvary High School in Clearwater, Florida.

“WVU is a great program that has a really bright future and an awesome fanbase,” said Ionata.

The 6’4” 285-lb tackle recalled when he received the offer.

“It was super cool. I got called out of class and met with (offensive coordinator) Coach (Chad) Scott and we talked about my game, and he offered me,” said Ionata.

“He was a super chill dude. Very kind and supportive. Overall, a really good recruiter,” he added.

Along with West Virginia, Ionata holds Power Five offers from Florida, Boston College, Miami, Duke, UCF, Ole Miss, and Georgia Tech, while holding Group of Five offers from Marshall, Louisana-Monroe, East Carolina, Army, Western Kentucky, Temple, South Florida, Appalachian State, Florida Atlantic and Coastal Carolina.

However, when it comes down to making a choice on where he will spend his collegiate career, Ionata is searching for a healthy “balance of football and academics, but, most importantly, the bonds I build and where I will succeed the most.”
