The West Virginia University football program received a verbal commitment from instate linebacker Curtis Jones Jr. The Barboursville, WV, native chose the Mountaineers over Marshall, Eastern Kentucky, and Toledo.

Jones highlights his hard-nosed style of football in all three phases of the game. 

He's strong and athletic on the edge. He sheds blocks and is a sure tackler on the outside while also dropping back in pass coverage.

He shows quickness to get around the edge in the pass rush, the strength to push the pocket to get to the quarterback or use his athleticism to get his hands up in the passing lanes. 

Jones plays under control while utilizing his speed and he showcase on the coverage units on special teams which could have him on the field as a freshman.
