Rui Yang is a writer for Esports on SI. Having covered esports since 2014, he has written for the likes of The Game Haus, Akshon Esports, and Red Bull Gaming, primarily covering League of Legends and the FGC. During his time at Akshon in 2024, he wrote and published a report highlighting the state of the Canadian Esports Industry. He has also been heavily involved in the local esports scene, serving as a former president of a collegiate club. When he's not working, Rui Yang can be found questioning the decisions that made him a fan of so many teams in both esports and traditional sports that just makes him really really sad.
