The Elite Stage 3 is underway today, with the European teams kicking us off. The team that needs to be highlighted is the Aw0babobs. They took Stage 1 and had a solid showing in Stage 2, and are now starting off Stage 3 hot.

Their first match was against Team Falcons, who have played well throughout the Elite Stages. They made quick work of the Falcons, defeating them 3-1. The entire cast of DENZA, Abuzah, Vortex, and Harry was too much to handle, with each of them having a positive performance to end the match.

Their second and final match of the day Thursday was against Noctem Esports, who showed tons of positives against VVv, defeating them in game five of their first match. But the Aw0babobs kept on cruising. Noctem Esports took them to a game five, but ultimately, the quad of the Aw0babobs was on fire and are looking like a difficult Challengers team to beat.

Despite being taken down to the final game of the match, Aw0babobs appeared to be in full control despite making a few mistakes. Each player is making a case for the discussion of being called up to the Call of Duty League at some point in the future.

The difficulties of getting players that live outside of the United States have been talked about at length. And with Major IV of the Call of Duty League beginning this weekend, Champs isn't far off. This means we likely won't see European players outside of the CDL that are without a Visa make an impact in the CDL this year.

That's not to say it won't happen. Many of these players are worthy of roster spots. But, for now, they're going to have to wait to have that conversation. Don't be surprised to see players from the Aw0babobs, specifically Jordan "Abuzah" François, in that discussion, and expect the Aw0babobs to make a major run in the Elite Stage 3.
