It hasn’t taken long for the Rival-9 to be named as a top-of-the-line SMG in Modern Warfare 3. With an extremely fast fire rate and great mobility, this Rival-9 loadout is the perfect choice for run-and-gun SMG players. Many of the Call of Duty League professional players have been using the Rival-9 in tournaments so far, and it’s quickly becoming the best weapon in the game. This Rival-9 loadout focuses on improving the weapon's mobility, making it extremely fast and the best SMG in the game. The Rival-38E Fire Starter barrel is the first attachment we use as it increases the weapon's mobility massively. Combined with the DR-6 Handstop, this Rival-9 build becomes extremely quick. However, these attachments do have a negative impact on recoil control, so the remaining attachments are used to bring some of that control back.
The Bruen Pendulum muzzle has the biggest horizontal and vertical recoil control increase, while the Rival Vice Assault grip and EXF Close Quarters Stock further increase the recoil control.

With an SMG loadout, the aim is to increase speed and mobility as much as possible. This is achieved by using the Infantry Vest which increases Tac Sprint duration. The Commando Gloves allow you to reload while moving, enabling you to always be on the go.
The Covert Sneakers are the go-to boots for an SMG loadout as they allow you to move around the map in silence, while the Ghost T/V Camo keeps you off the radar, further increasing your stealth.
The Lethal, Tactical and Field Equipment are all down to personal choice. But we like to use a Semtex and a Flash Grenade, as they allow you to quickly clear rooms while on the move. The A.C.S Field Equipment allows you to capture objectives while not on the point, giving you more opportunity to roam the map and pick up kills.
How to Unlock the Rival-9
The Rival-9 is only unlockable through the new Armory Unlocks system in Modern Warfare 3. This means that you’ll need to get to level 25, and then complete three daily challenges to get the Rival-9. If you’ve already done the daily challenges, then each win will count towards the total.
