A weekend in front of the home crowd was off to a rocky start after OpTic Texas started with a loss to the Boston Breach. What was looking like a sour weekend turned into something much sweeter than that.

A 3-0 loss in their first match has given OpTic life in what's becoming a tremendous run in the Loser's Bracket. They're taking control of matches and clutching up when they need to.

And it can't go unnoticed the cohesive way they're playing. It's smooth. They're playing as a team and doing exactly what they need to as individual players.

With the crowd behind them and being louder than they have been all weekend, they were able to pull out a hard-fought battle against the red-hot Seattle Surge.

Coming into the weekend as the top seed, many had the Surge taking down OpTic in front of the home crowd Saturday evening. While OpTic, as a team, obviously can take the majority of the credit for pulling off the tremendous victory, it can't go unnoticed the role the crowd played in it all.

Every kill. Every hill. Every point - the crowd was electric. Jumping around the stage, booing their opponents, and cheering on the home squad - this OpTic crowd was definitely behind the Green Wall and in the heads of Seattle Surge.

We spoke to Daniel "Ghosty" Rothe after their win Saturday night, which is sending them to Championship Sunday in the Major 3 of the Call of Duty League, and this is what he had to say about the momentum the crowd brings the team:

I want to focus on the crowd a little bit. Is that pushing momentum toward your team?

100%. You can't just sit here and say no. The crowd behind you definitely helps, and I don't know how it feels the pressure against you. I have before, like the challengers, but definitely not at the pro level. So it definitely probably gets to the other team, in my opinion, at the end of the day.

Going into championship Sunday, you got the crowd. They're loud today. What are you gonna say to them for tomorrow?

Come even crazier, you know, champ Sunday is the most important day of them all and keep coming crazy. The love is absurd.
