WSOW Winner Shifty Looks Ahead to Warzone Urzikstan with JuJu Smith-Schuster’s Team Diverge

Shifty proved all the doubters wrong in London, and plans on doing the same in MW3

Back in September, Shifty took home the title of World Series of Warzone Global Finals champion alongside his teammates of Biffle and Sage. We spoke to him and Team Diverge co-owner JuJu Smith-Schuster following the win to learn more about their hopes and plans for the future.

“Winning the World Series of Warzone was a feeling I could not replicate with a win from home, the sense of accomplishment and pure joy alongside my teammates was a overwhelming feeling but in the best way possible, something I'll never be able to forget.” Shifty said.

For New England Patriots WR and Team Diverge Co-Owner JuJu Smith-Schuster, it’s all about trust in his creators and players. “It means so much to me to have someoene like Shifty to represent Team Diverge and even winning it as a competitive player. I've seen this kid put so much work into this and he even told me days before, "JuJu, I'm going down to win".

But it’s not all easy for Smith-Schuster, as balancing competing in the NFL and running an esports organisation comes with challenges. “It's really hard to balance running an esports organization and playing in the NFL. However, for me it's worth doing because I love both the same. Yes, football is my main sport and job but gaming has always been a part of my life since I was a kid. Gaming keeps me level headed and keeps balance in life for me, it's like meditation.”

Team Diverge were the first organisation to take a chance on Shifty during his accusations of cheating. Shifty went through a lot, being blacklisted from tournaments, forced to monitor cam and much more. However, he’s grateful for the opportunity Team Diverge gave him. “The accusations and the blacklist was some of the biggest adversity I’ve had to deal with, I would be lying if I said that didn’t affect me in some way, but I kept hope that I would be back knowing I never did any of the things they said I had. I eventually joined TD because they were some of the first people to believe in me while all the accusations were going on and I really appreciated that.”

With the MW3 Warzone update releasing on December 6th, everyone is looking towards the biggest update in Warzone history. “I just want it to be a good game” said Shifty, “some good movement and a balanced time to kill. If we can get anywhere close to the Verdansk level this game was at I think we can see one of the biggest years Warzone has had to date.”

Warzone's Urzikstan update releases on December 6th with more content than we have ever seen before in Warzone. With numerous quality of life updates and brand new content, this is set to be the biggest improvement we have ever seen.
