Amongst all of the wild rides, attendees at the San Antonio Six Flags will be able to watch an intense Fortnite Summer Showdown tournament featuring big names like Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf and Kayla “Sommerset.”

This exciting tournament is part of Six Flags’ gaming initiative. A lot of the theme parks have added gaming houses with gaming equipment inside for those who need a break from waiting in line in the hot sun. Attendees can take a break from the whiplash to play Fortnite, League of Legends, and more inside the gaming houses, called ESIX Arenas.

The ESIX Arena in San Antonio opened in April of 2023. It’s now one of nine Six Flag parks across the country to have a gaming house. It has more than 50 custom PC stations, next-gen console stations, and even live stream rooms. There’s a VIP lounge, a 52-seat lounge, and a theater that can sit 1,601 gamers.

To promote the gaming houses, Six Flags has partnered with Coca-Cola to host a $30,000 Fortnite tournament.

Fortnite Summer Showdown at Six Flags

This Labor Day weekend, 50 Fortnite players will compete in a two-day tournament for a piece of the $30,000 prize pool and a trophy belt. The winner and nine of their friends will also get a free trip to attend the ESIX Summer Showdown at the Six Flags Fiesta.

"We are thrilled to host the culmination of our summer esports activation at our state-of-the-art premier esports arena, eSix," said Six Flags VP Stephanie Borges. "This exciting weekend of competition offers an unparalleled opportunity for our guests both in-park and across the globe.”

The 50 players are all pro players and content creators, meaning it will be high stakes and top-tier action. Expect them to take on “thrilling challenges,” including the Fortnite Park Challenge on September 2 and a “creator rumble” on September 3.

After the action is over, the content creators will be available for a meet-and-greet with fans both days. Spectators can also compete for prizes in the ESIX Arena throughout the event.
