Hi-Rez Officially Announces SMITE 2

In a press release after the initial announcement, Hi-Rez stated that SMITE 2 will be a “new experience” based on the past 10 years of “learnings” from the original.
“SMITE 2 takes everything players love about SMITE 2 and wraps it in state-of-the-art visuals, animation, and gameplay,” the press release continued.
There will be many updates and improvements, although we do not know the entirety of what’s to come just yet. Developers have confirmed, however, that there will be a refined user interface, updated audio, and clearer spell effects. This is because the game is “built from the ground up” in Unreal Engine 5.
The move to Unreal Engine 5 has allowed SMITE 2 to support crossplay, a massive rework to ranked play with new tiers and structures, and improved matchmaking. It will be a “next-gen experience” that allows SMITE 2 to shine on Steam, the Steam Deck, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
If you have already been playing SMITE, developers are promising that every Gem spent will be converted to Legacy Gems in the sequel. They can be spent on new purchases.
Said Hi-Rez: “The Divine Legacy program will offer 11 unique skins, badges, Gold Mastery levels, and cross-generation skins that work across both games. Beginning in 2024, all new gem-purchasable skins in SMITE will be cross-generation.”
When Is SMITE 2 Coming Out?
There is no release date just yet. But you can put SMITE 2 on your wishlist. You can also register for the alpha test on the official website. All you have to do right now is put your email, select a platform, and be over 13 years old.
