The best teams in the world will be competing in person at BlizzCon 2023, which takes place on November 3. But how are they determined? Here’s everything you need to know about the Overwatch World Cup 2023 so you can follow the action.

Overwatch World Cup 2023

The World Cup has already begun and has actually been going on all year.

Stage 2 started in February with the World Cup Trials. This open tournament allowed teams to compete for a spot in the Regional Team Tryouts for their country. In June, 36 country and regional teams competed in six regional qualifiers. The top 16 teams will then advance to the Overwatch World Cup Group Stage.

The Group Stage is coming in the fall of 2023. This LAN tournament will determine the top eight teams who will head to BlizzCon for the Finals.

Overwatch World Cup Trial Winners

The World Cup Trials happened in February, revealing the top teams from each participating country. These teams earned a spot in the country and regional team tryouts in March and went home with $2,000.

How to Watch the Overwatch World Cup 2023

The above 16 teams will travel to Southern California for the Group Stage. This will take place from October 29 to November 1 with no live audience. You can watch the action online, however, by tuning into Twitch or YouTube.

Then the World Cup Finals will occur at BlizzCon. Tickets to BlizzCon will also get you into the World Cup Finals. Tickets are going on sale in two waves, the first being on July 8 and the second on July 22. Find out how to get tickets to BlizzCon and the Overwatch World Cup Finals here.
