Will We Ever Get a New Eeveelution? Pokemon Fans Speculate What's Next
Eevee is one of the most popular Pokémon in the entire franchise but that makes it all the more strange that there hasn’t been a new Eevee evolution for the past 10 years.
There are currently eight Eeveelutions:
- Jolteon
- Flareon
- Vaporeon
- Espeon
- Umbreon
- Lefeon
- Glaceon
- Sylveon
Sylveon was the last Eeveelution to be released by the Pokémon Company. That was back in 2013 with Generation 6. Before then, it seemed like we were getting a new Eevee evolution type every other generation.
- Gen 1: Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon
- Gen 2: Espeon, Umbreon
- Gen 4: Lefeon, Glaceon
- Gen 6: Sylveon
But then Generation 8 came around and we didn’t get an Eeveelution. With Generation 10 coming sometime in late 2025, fans of the fluffy fox-like ‘mon are wondering if there will ever be another Eeveelution.
Is Another Eeveelution Coming?
It’s been a bit frustrating for Eevee fans as of late, with a lot of teasing seeming to go nowhere. At least not yet.
Pokémon Master Journeys on Netflix gave a lot of hints at the possibility of another Eeveelution since Chloe had her own Eevee. This alone is usually a sign that another Eeveelution is coming since it happened every other time a main character in the anime had their own Eevee.
But what made it even more promising was that Chloe’s Eevee had a very unique backstory. The Eevee was being tested at a lab and was found to have “chaotic DNA” and it was released to find its identity on its own.
Unfortunately, the Eevee never evolved.
Right now, it’s unclear if another Eevee evolution is coming. Pokémon has never confirmed nor denied this possibility — for now we will just have to wait and see if Generation 10 finally brings us what we have been waiting for.
Eevee Fans Speculate What the Next Eeveelution Will Be
There are 18 Pokémon types, meaning there are nine left for Eevee’s next evolution to be. This includes:
- Fighting
- Flying
- Poison
- Ground
- Rock
- Bug
- Ghost
- Steel
- Dragon
