To get into the DLC your first step will be buying the expansion. As of today, you can buy The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero through different methods such as the Nintendo eShop app on your Nintendo Switch, the official Nintendo.com online store, gift cards, and many others, but we always recommend going through official sources to avoid any possible headaches.
Pricing can vary depending on your region but in the US the base price for the DLC is currently $34.99 USD and can also be purchased in a bundle with either Scarlet or Violet for $94.99 USD.

Some players have reported having trouble finding how to download the DLC. The process is supposed to be easy but Nintendo certainly created some unnecessary steps for their player base.
After buying the DLC you will have to go into your Nintendo Switch and update your Pokémon Scarlet or Violet game. To do this you must hover your game, press the “+” button to go into the “Options” menu, go to the “Software Update” tab, and select the “Via the Internet” option. There all you need to do is confirm the download and wait for the installation to be completed.
