The Pokémon hype never ends. Next year is no different, with an abundance of Pokémon media and products to look forward to throughout 2024. This includes a TV show, manga, and a guidebook. Here’s everything to look out for if you love soaking up as much Pokémon as possible.
TV Show: Pokémon Horizons
Date: February 23, 2024
This new animated series is a Netflix exclusive. It will follow Liko and Roy along with their starter ‘mon Sprigatito and Fuecoco as they begin a journey across multiple regions. Along the way, they’ll make new friends, encounter adorable Pokémon, and get help from some memorable characters like Captain Pikachu. Will they get away from the Explorers?

Manga: Pokémon Adventures: OmegaRuby & AlphaSapphire
Date: Spring 2024
This Pokémon manga was originally released as mini volumes with three to four chapters back in 2016. These will be released as full-volume books with seven to eight chapters in the spring of 2024.
Sapphire and Emerald must stop a meteor that’s heading to the Hoenn Region. As they attempt to save their home, the duo will face many enemies. This manga is based on the OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire video games.
Book: The Complete Pokémon Pocket Guide
Date: Spring 2024
A newly revised guide to Pokémon is coming in the spring of next year. It will cover 898 species, complete with full-color illustrations, stats, abilities, and other useful information. It will be split into two volumes, the first one going from Bulbasaur (#1) to Garchomp (#445). This is a great set of books to get if you want something interesting and useful in your collection.
Pokémon Adventures

Originally airing in Japan, this television series is based on the manga series of the same name. Hidenori Kusaka wrote the manga and directed the show. It’s been released internationally but will become available on Disney+ in America in July of 2024.
Pokémon Adventures starts with the Red, Blue & Green arc that features an 11-year-old named Red who wants to become a champion and master. Sound familiar?
Is a Pokémon Movie Coming Out in 2024?
For a while, Pokémon fans believed that a live-action movie set in the same world as Detective Pikachu was coming in 2024. It was said that it would feature Tom Holland as Blue Oak, Professor Oak’s grandson. This rumor has not been confirmed to be true, however, and it’s looking a little too last-second to be true at this point. It all started from a fan-made trailer on YouTube but nothing official has been shared.
Is a Pokémon Game Coming Out in 2024?
It is very unlikely that a Gen 10 game is coming in 2024. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were released in 2022, which means the next generation of games should arrive sometime in 2025. We’ll most likely get a lot of news about the upcoming game in 2024, although fans are wishing that Pokémon would take more time between games since the last few have felt rushed, glitched, and empty.
