Washington Huskies TE Quentin Moore: We Were Ready for Whoever

As we gear up for the CFP game between Washington and Texas, we get some insight from a Washington Huskies player.

Washington football player Quentin Moore was on The Coach JB Show with Big Smitty to talk about his team's upcoming Sugar Bowl matchup.

Their first College Football Playoff opponent is Texas, who they also faced in their bowl game last year. Washington is riding into the four-team tournament with extreme confidence. The Huskies, led by Heisman Trophy candidate Michael Penix Jr, are undefeated this season. Coach JB asked the junior tight end if beating the Longhorns last year helps going into this one.

"We were ready for whoever they announced us to play against. What we did to Texas last year has nothing to do with this year. So, I can't bring up last year, but we are ready to go," said Moore.

Controversy surrounded selection day, and many across the country were upset that Florida State was not a part of the College Football Playoff despite being 13-0. An injury to starting quarterback Jordan Travis was the only hiccup on their resume, but instead, the Seminoles will be watching from home.

"You always see the stuff on social media, politics whatever it is," said Moore when asked about Texas and Alabama getting in over Florida State. "I wasn't shocked, and I don't have an answer to it. It is what it is."
