First, with 16.9 seconds left in overtime and the Timberwolves up 2, Butler was at the line shooting free throws. That's when he got the "MVP" chant treatment from the sold-out Target Center crowd.

And then after the game, during an on-court interview with Fox Sports North's Marney Gellner, the fans gave the new Wolf a loud ovation.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you," Butler said, then – joking with a big smile on his face – added: "I'm trying to get to the locker room, let me answer the question."

The Timberwolves are now 22-13, with the fourth best record in the Western Conference.
