Watch: Anthony Edwards throws down dunk so massive he hurt his own hand

Is this one the dunk of the year?

Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards took flight during the third quarter of Monday night's 114-104 victory at the Utah Jazz and threw down a nasty dunk over Jazz forward John Collins. The dunk was so massive it even hurt his opposite hand.

Edwards was fouled on the dunk, too, and was set to shoot a free throw, but he immediately grabbed his left hand — he threw down the dunk with his right — showed it to the bench and trotted into the locker room. Not to worry, after a brief break, Edwards returned to the game to shoot the free throw. Had he been unable to return in time to shoot the free throw, he would've had to miss the remainder of the game.

Edwards said after the game on Bally Sports North that he dislocated his finger.

And the Timberwolves certainly didn't need another player out with an injury. Already down Karl-Anthony Towns, who's recovering from a meniscus surgery, they also lost Naz Reid during Monday's game due to a head injury. Reid was off to a torrid start to the game, too, having poured in 17 points in the first half.
