Wolves fall to Nuggets, 111-88

The Timberwolves held it close at Denver in the first half Saturday night, but sputtered in the final two quarters to lose to the Nuggets, 111-88.

The Wolves trailed 27-24 at the end of the first quarter, and narrowed the Nuggets' lead to 1 in the second for a 50-49 score at halftime.

The Nuggets began to pull away in the third quarter, however, outscoring the Wolves 33-21 in the third, and put Minnesota away for good by outscoring the team 28-18 in the fourth on the way to the 111-88 victory.

The Wolves' Mickael Gelabale scored a season-high 19 points, while J.J. Barea added 15 points and Derrick Williams 13.

Ty Lawson tied his season high by scoring 32 points for the Nuggets.

The Wolves return to Target Center on Sunday to take on the Dallas Mavericks at 6 p.m.
