Kevin Garnett's news wasn't the only major news surrounding the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday afternoon.
Wolves owner Glen Taylor told WCCO Radio that Nikola Pekovic will not play this year.

According to NBC Sports, Pekovic is owed $23.7 million over the next two seasons with the Wolves.
Pekovic had been working out for the team in the Twin Cities, but a couple of weeks ago it was learned that he wasn't ready for the season.
Pekovic's body has been breaking down over the last few years. The 30-year-old center has missed 205 career games – including 70 last season, most of them due to ankle problems.
The Wolves have made it a priority to add big men this offseason. They already have Karl-Anthony Towns, Gorgui Dieng, Cole Aldrich and Jordan Hill upfront.
Nemanja Bjelica and Adreian Payne area also on the roster and could be options as well.
