The Twins led the Rangers 3-0 in the ninth inning but Glen Perkins allowed three runs on four hits to allow the defending World Series champions to tie the game, and eventually beat the Twins 4-3 in 13-innings.

Michael Young's fourth hit of the night was a double to start the 13th inning. Twins' reliever Alex Burnett intentionally walked David Murphy before allowing an infield single to Mike Napoli. With the bases loaded Ian Kinsler ended the game with a walk-off single to deep left-center.

The Twins scored one run in the sixth inning on Justin Morneau's RBI single. They added two more in the ninth on an error by Rangers' reliever Joe Nathan and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Denard Span.

The Twins enter the All-Star break with a record of 36-49. They are 11 games behind the AL Central-leading Chicago White Sox. The 2011 Twins team that lost 99 games, had a record of 41-48 at the All-Star break.
