Zimmer after Vikings' Thanksgiving victory: 'We're playing to f-----g win, at home'

The Vikings' head coach made it clear the goal isn't just to get to the playoffs.

The Vikings are well in control of the NFC North after their 30-23 win over Detroit on Thanksgiving.

But at 9-2, Mike Zimmer wants to make it clear to his players they're not just aiming to make the playoffs: They should have their eyes on U.S. Bank Stadium, the site of Super Bowl LII.

You've got to watch this locker room video of Zimmer talking postgame Thursday, where he lays it out like this:

"We're not just playing to get in the f-----g thing, right? We're not playing to get in the tournament. We're playing to f------g win, at home."

No NFL team has ever played on their home field in a Super Bowl (though there have been two times where the team played near its home stadium).

But it doesn't sound like Zimmer cares about historical precedent.

Minnesota is three games ahead of Detroit in the division, and neck-and-neck with New Orleans for the No. 2 seed (and a playoff bye) in the NFC.

The next game? Sunday, Dec. 3, at Atlanta.
