It's legendary Minnesota Vikings head coach Bud Grant's 87th birthday today and to celebrate he's throwing a party garage sale! Grant, who was born May 20, 1927 in Superior, Wisconsin, will be selling and auctioning off NFL memorabilia and outdoor gear Wednesday through Friday this week at 8134 Oakmere Drive in Bloomington, according to KARE 11. Grant placed an ad in the classifieds section of the Star Tribune to promote the sale.

Bud Grant's biggest, best & last garage sale. Viking's stuff old & new, hunting, fishing, decoys, guns, outboard motor, snowmobile suits, helmets, antiques, clothing, furniture, books, pictures, many unique items.

“I hunt and fish a lot, so there’s a lot of hunting and fishing items,” Grant told CBS Minnesota. “I was a head coach for 35 years, so I have a lot of Vikings stuff.” One of the marquee items that Grant will auction off is a banner with his name on it from the actual Vikings' Ring of Honor. Grant says he's selling it because "I don't have a stadium to put it in." Here are specific dates and times the garage sale will be open, according to gsalr.com.

  • Wednesday – 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Friday – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Grant coached the Vikings for 18 years (1967-1983, 1985). He led the Vikings to four Super Bowl appearances, and despite losing all four, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994. Grant finished his coaching career with a record of 168-108-5. To celebrate Grant's birthday, Vikings.com put together an awesome infographic about his career.
