Ben Simmons' Injury Status For 76ers-Nets Game

Ben Simmons has been ruled out for Sunday's game.

On Sunday afternoon, the Brooklyn Nets will host the Philadelphia 76ers at Barclays Center in New York. 

For the game, the Nets will remain without one of their best players, as Ben Simmons has been ruled out

The three-time NBA All-Star has missed each of the previous five games, so this will be his sixth straight out of action. 

On November 14, the Nets announced an injury update on Simmons (h/t Erik Slater of ClutchPoints). 

Via The Nets on November 14: "Nets guard/forward Ben Simmons, who has missed the past three games with a left hip contusion, underwent an MRI due to lingering discomfort in the area. The imaging revealed a nerve impingement in the lower left side of his back. Simmons will continue to receive treatment on both his hip and back. A status update will be provided in one week."

Simmons has played in six games so far this season and is averaging 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists per contest while shooting 52.8% from the field. 

The Nets are 6-6 in their first 12 games and most recently lost to the Miami Heat by a score of 122-115. 

Following the 76ers, they will play their next game against Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks (on Wednesday) in Georgia. 

As for the 76ers, they are 9-3 in their first 12 games, which has them as the second seed in the Eastern Conference. 

They most recently defeated the Hawks by a score of 126-116 on Friday in Georgia.
