Ben Simmons' Injury Status For Magic-Nets Game

Ben Simmons has been ruled out for Tuesday's game.

UPDATEBrian Lewis of The New York Post reported an update on Simmons. 

Via Lewis: "Ben Simmons' agent Bernie Lee on latest injury: "Ben had an MRI in the last couple of days & its shown us he's experiencing some nerve irritation on the lower left side of his body which is going to cause him to miss to some time as he rehabs & builds himself back..." #Nets #NBA"

On Tuesday evening, the Brooklyn Nets will host the Orlando Magic at Barclays Center in New York. 

For the game, the Nets will be without one of their best players, as Ben Simmons has been ruled out.

The former LSU star has missed each of the previous three games, so this will be his fourth straight out of the lineup.

Simmons has played in six games so far this season and is averaging 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists per contest while shooting 52.8% from the field.

The Nets are 5-5 in their first ten games and most recently defeated the Washington Wizards by a score of 102-94 at Barclays Center.  

Mikal Bridges led the team with 27 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and one steal while shooting 11/29 from the field and 2/14 from the three-point range in 34 minutes of playing time. 

Simmons is in his second season playing for the Nets and is coming off a year where he averaged 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 56.6% from the field. 

Following the Magic, the Nets will play their next game against the Miami Heat (on Thursday) in Florida. 

As for the Magic, they are 5-4 in their first nine games, and most recently defeated Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks by a score of 112-97. 

Following the Nets, they will play their next game against the Chicago Bulls (in Illinois) on Wednesday.
