Ben Simmons' Injury Status For Nets-Celtics Game

Ben Simmons has been ruled out for Friday's game.

On Friday night, the Brooklyn Nets will be in Massachusetts to face off with Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics.

For the game, they will be without one of their best players, as Ben Simmons has been ruled out (knee).

Simmons has missed each of the last four games, so this will be his fifth straight out of action.

The former LSU star is currently averaging 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.3 steals per contest in 42 games (while shooting 56.6% from the field).

Before missing all of last season, Simmons had been to the NBA All-Star Game three times in a row (with the 76ers).

Right now, the Nets are the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 34-28 record in 62 games.

They are in the middle of a four-game losing streak and 2-8 in their last ten games.

On the road, the Nets have gone 16-16 in the 32 games they have played away from Barclays Center in New York.

As for the Celtics, they come into the evening as one of the best teams in the NBA.

They are the second seed in the east with a 45-18 record in 63 games (a half-game behind the Milwaukee Bucks for first).

Over the last ten games, the Celtics have gone 8-2, and they are an incredible 25-7 in 32 games hosted at home in Massachusetts.

Last season, the Celtics swept the Nets in the first round of the NBA Playoffs (they made the NBA Finals but lost to the Golden State Warriors in six games).
